Artist Residency Program
Engagement
A key component of the Graylag Artist Residency is fostering connections between artists, visitors, and the local community. As part of their residency, artists are expected to offer a minimum of one program during their stay. A Program can take many forms, including but not limited to:
- Hands-on workshops
- Artist talks or lectures
- Demonstrations of techniques or processes
- Collaborative projects with guests or fellow artists
- Interactive events that invite participation and exploration
We encourage artists to propose their own unique approach to engagement, ensuring that their programming reflects both their creative practice and the spirit of the residency. The quality and creativity of an applicant’s proposed programming will be a key factor in our selection process. We are looking for artists who are not only passionate about their work but also enthusiastic about sharing their knowledge and inspiring others.
At the conclusion of each residency, we kindly ask artists to participate in a brief exit interview and reflection, sharing insights about the experience that will directly inform and enhance our evolving artist-in-residence program. Thoughtful feedback is invaluable as we continue to develop meaningful creative opportunities and nurture a supportive environment for future resident artists. Artists will also be asked to provide an image or recording of work created during their residency so that we may share it with the Graylag community through our website and social media.
This residency is an opportunity to exchange ideas, foster dialogue, and leave a lasting impact on the Graylag community. If you are excited about engaging with others through your art and practice, we encourage you to apply!
