Applications now closed for summer/fall 2026

The Graylag Artist Residency is dedicated to nurturing the intersection of creativity and nature. Situated within Graylag Nature Preserve in rural New Hampshire, the residency provides artists with a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the natural world, allowing creativity to flourish through direct engagement with the outdoors. By offering time and space for creation and reflection, the program encourages artistic growth and promotes a vibrant exchange of ideas between visiting artists and the local community.

We believe that creativity flourishes in relationship with the land, and we invite artists to explore how nature informs their work while also contributing to the community through shared experiences. Whether through a workshop, talk, or new ways of engaging with the environment, residents play a vital role in strengthening the ties between art, nature, conservation, and our local community.

Each session offers artists two weeks of uninterrupted creative time in a private cabin located within Graylag Nature Preserve. For 2026, five two-week sessions are available between August 14 and October 23. One-week sessions may also be arranged within the same period if there is sufficient interest and need. Applicants are asked to specify their preferred two-week session dates and indicate if they would prefer a different duration.

Artists from all disciplines are welcome to apply. We will begin reviewing applications on May 1, 2026.
