Shinrin-yoku Forest Immersion

with Bear-Paw Regional Greenways

Shinrin-yoku, also known as Forest Immersion or Forest Bathing, is the practice of immersing yourself in nature through the senses to support overall health and well-being.

Join Certified Forest Therapy Guide Brittany Carr of Rooting in Nature for a guided experience designed to help you slow down, reconnect, and restore balance. Through a series of gentle, guided invitations, you’ll engage your senses and experience nature in a more intentional and restorative way. Research shows that time spent in nature can reduce stress hormones, lower blood pressure, support immune function, improve mood, and enhance focus and creativity. This experience is designed to support your overall well-being in a calm, welcoming environment.

The event will conclude with tea and space for quiet reflection or optional sharing, offering a gentle transition back into your day. At the end of the experience, there will also be an optional opportunity to enter the lake as a final invitation to cool down—whether through a swim, a quiet wade, or simply sitting at the water’s edge. Time in and around water can help regulate the nervous system, leaving you feeling refreshed and grounded. This is a slow, accessible experience suitable for most ability levels. No prior experience is needed—just a willingness to be present.
